an unlucky fall while crossing a roundabout to get home after our car broke down, resulting in my kneecap making contact with the concrete kerb with enough velocity and force to shatter it into six different pieces. Though walking about 1/2 a mile home on it afterwards probably didn't help.

Christ-on-a-bike, that's rough.I remember while I was at college, I had a nasty fall, knocked my knee caps back into the tendons, they swelled up like grapefruits, they still aren't quite right lol.
So what's going to happen? Will it need surgery or will it just heal if you keep it all wrapped tightly? I understand little about these things.

luckily a skilled surgeon pieced it back together while i listened (i took the spinal anasthetic that means you stay awake and can eat as soon as the operation is done) the morning after it happened, but im stuck in plaster until the 7th, then on crutches for probably 4 weeks after that with the knee brace. Basically, i miss all the fun lol. Now I just have to learn how to astrally project so i can literally be there in spirit .

I feel bad for you, I've been trying to think of ways we can get you into the woods lol.
The best idea so far is wrapping a bin bag around your plaster, to keep it dry, then wheeling you along on some sort of large skateboard/sled.

lol thanks, but while thats a rather a clever and creative solution, unfortunately I cant really even return to the newcastle-under-lyme area till my appointment to get the cast removed on the 7th. Still, i'll be there for the first normal kupos meeting, and ill be back in time for Karnage so its not all bad. Now some good pics of the night to show me what i missed, however, wouldnt go amiss

on the contrary, if i can't be there i always consider photographs the next best thing. Of course i wont be able to drink the mead etc that goes with being there... oh wait, i have a morrisons nearby and that stuff is just about drinkable. Ill have to get kat to send me my drinking horn... one of them anyway.
