What is missing from socials?
I know it's a bad time of year, people are poor, depressed, overwhelmed by work and deadlines, perhaps that is why attendence has dropped.
What can we do to help?

I should think as you suspect, lack of money and deadline period blues are largely responsible as well as (at least in mine, icebound77, and andy's case) busy evening schedules especially on Fridays.

Indeed, it is a pity that the Dark heresy game is on a Friday.

maybe you should put up a poll about which days are best. its changed from last year so maybe a new poll is in order. I find the socials last year were fun and just great to well..socialise. but admittedly that needed to change. now its all seems serious and all about the practicalities of paganism and so formalised. i'm guessing you need to find a balance between socialising and activities. the two seem so mutually exclusive at the moment.
I also tend not to feel comfortable about talking about in depth about the questions posed at the socials so far. they are questions which are personal to people and they may seem put off by this. it also may seem a bit heavy going.

hear, hear. While I love the idea of the workshops etc (indeed i was one of the voices most strongly advocating them), I also mourn the lost opportunity to just socialise sometimes with fellow pagans and occultist in a less formal environment. Some kind of balance might be best, with workshops followed by retiring to the bar at horwood or to keele hall/woods to just drink etc.
Also, I second the new poll.

Perhaps a social at Horwood for the final week? Just an informal chat and a drink while we try and put together a programme for next semester.
