Now here's a nice controversial subject. Who believes and who doesn't? The general theory seems to be that heavenly bodies emit rays which vary at different times of the year and have an effect on physical and personality traits of children born at those times. It's a bit deterministic, yes, and the 'strength' of the rays is strongest at the start of the astrological year in late march and slowly weakens... so star signs near the end of the cycle have a weaker effect than those at the start. Now, I probably wouldn't be inclined to believe, if I wasn't in fact a totally typical Aries... Matt aka Tumnus was actually somewhat bizarrely able to guess what star sign I was correctly on his first guess just from knowing me for a couple of weeks, which was a little freaky. And I know a fair few other people who are 'typical' of their star sign, even non-believers. So who believes, and who doesn't? I can almost hear John yelling 'BOLLOCKS' and waiting to go on a moaning rampage, so I'll wrap this post up now . EDIT: LMAO this board and it's hate of swear words.. I originally said john would go on a bitc_hing rampage and it changed it to 'pregnant dogging' .... Your sexual Arian webmaster

blatant character assasination!
I think the watered down "you will meet a tall dark stranger" stuff is bollocks. As for "real" astrology, I've got to admit ignorance for the most part. I know a bit about the corrospondences between planatery(sp) and elemental forces, and of course the position of the planets is important when you're summoning demons and shooting laser beams out of your eyes and shit...
typical Aries though tbh.

Ye, so astrology was one of the 1st things I practice. 1st I learned Easten astrolgy - like year of the dragon and rabbit etc, and then the more western version. I kind of belive in most of it but that stuff in newspapers thats inaccurate, but because it has to be to balance the numarics of Virgoians and Arians et al who read it, or they're bad which is most like true as well

The only rays those stars shoot down are the kind that give you static on your t.v and give you cancer. Given the concerns of most people I can see how the conclusion has been reached that those stars rule our lives however...I can't see it.
On the other hand I've never been able to argue that people have different personality traits depending on the time of year they are born.
Astrology is something I'm still undecided on but its one of my pet obssessions of late.

Just to play Devil's advocate, there are ways and means of saying things which can make a description of a personality which appears to be aimed at an individual resonate with EVERYBODY.
There was once a classic 'horoscope' experiment where a group sat down and figured out a 200 word or so description of someone's personality. It was so broad and covered so many natural aspects of human nature, that when handled to 100 people, every single one of them thought it was wonderfully accurate and commended the skill of the 'astrologers'.
Worth thinking about...

Have to say I'm not much of a believer in Astrology, though I do find it fascinating. My mother was heavily into it a few years ago, and when you get down into the more complex drawing up of charts and such, it's really quite interesting.
